The Welcome Screen is displayed immediately after launching Test Studio.
It lets you access or create projects, getting started samples for the product, guided tutorials and notification about software updates.
In this section you can choose whether to create a new project or load an existing one - listed in the Recent Projects list, or browse the local disk, or connect to source control (Git or TFS) and clone a project repository.
Choose the location on disk where to create a new project and enter its name.
To open an existing project you can choose whether to open an existing local project or connect to source control and clone a project from a remote repository, or use the Recent projects list, which shows the recently opened projects, displaying their name and full physical path.
Once the test project is created you can start adding tests.
The Get Started section provides access to the demo project and the interactive in-product tutorials to guide you through the Test Studio tool.
Under this section you can find information about the installed version of Test Studio, activation and update notifications.
This section displays your currently installed version number.
This section displays the mode of your license key (Trial or Licensed) and the option to Deactivate an active license. This is used to run one license of Test Studio across multiple machines. Please see our KB article on Swapping a License for more information.
Update And Update Notifications
This section displays options to check for updates.
As of release R1 2018 (v.2018.1.301) once Test Studio is launched you will see the Newsfeed section in the Welcome Screen. It will inform you for any important news related to the product, will share new blog posts in regards Test Studio features and capabilities. Its content is live updated and requires Internet connection.
