Test Studio updates provide new features, improved functionality against evolving controls, interoperability with new software, and bug fixes. As of R2 2012 SP1 (ver.2012.2.1204), the Check for Updates feature allows automatic detection of new versions of Test Studio. If a new version is detected, Check for Updates provides the option to download and install this new version.
This guide explains how to update Test Studio using the Check for Updates feature. To update installations of Test Studio before R2 2012 SP1, download and run the latest Test Studio installer from Telerik.com.
In Test Studio Standalone the Help drop down in the upper right corner contains an option to run Check for Updates.
So does the Update in the Software Update section in the Welcome Screen.
In Visual Studio you can access the update section under the Project Settings.
This dialog also contains options to check for updates on startup and limit the update notifications to only official builds. When 'Check for Updates on Test Studio Startup' is enabled, the welcome screen will display a 'Checking for updates...' status message at Test Studio startup.
If Test Studio detects a new release, the new version number appears. To read release notes for this new version, click What's New?
After the download completes, click Install to install the new version.
This launches the Setup Wizard for the new Test Studio version. The Setup Wizard will confirm that you wish to upgrade to the new version. Click Yes to continue with the upgrade.
