How to install Telerik Reporting

  1. After executing the msi file you should see the following window prompting the user to read and accept the License Agreement:

  2. Next you are provided with a customization window giving you ability to choose among several features, which are self explanatory. What you should note here is the Examples feature. If we do not find a local SQL Server instance on your machine or if your SQL Browser service is stopped the examples will be installed but the application configuration files will not have a valid connection strings. Still you can find working demos on our demos page.

If you want to setup the examples and the used connection string click Examples Setup. Supported are any local SQL Server 2005+ instances.

    Note Note

The Examples use the AdventureWorks database which is installed on your machine unless it already exists. Should you need to recover it, you can download it from codeplex.

AdventureWorks can be installed manually by running the SQL script located by default under [InstallDir]/Examples/Data/AdventureWorks OLTP.

  3. If Examples Setup is clicked in the previous step, you can choose your Database Server and the authentication used to connect. The Wizard should detect all running instances and list them in the input field.

    Note Note

The Installer Wizard expects running SQL Server Browser Service in order to discover local running SQL Server instances.
