Manually Migrating Projects to the New Kendo Color System

Description

I have a ThemeBuilder project created with a Telerik and Kendo UI theme released prior to the Q2 2024 version (v8.0.0). How can I migrate all UI component customizations to a ThemeBuilder project based on a Q2 2024 Telerik and Kendo UI theme (v8.0.0) or later?

Solution

The Q2 2024 release of the Telerik and Kendo UI themes and components introduces a new Color System. To migrate a ThemeBuilder project based on a Telerik and Kendo UI theme released before Q2 2024 to a new project that is based on a later Telerik and Kendo UI theme version:

1. Manually migrate your project to the latest themes version.

2. Update the variable names by referring to the variable mapping in the following articles:

   • Default theme variable mapping.
   • Bootstrap theme variable mapping.
   • Material theme variable mapping.
   • Fluent theme variable mapping.
   • Classic theme variable mapping.
