Unregistering a Device

Unregistering a Device

The unregister operation allows you to stop sending push notifications to a selected device. It is useful when the user has opted out of receiving this kind of notifications or for another reason. This operation is typically followed by closing the communication channel.

This is how you unregister a device with Telerik Platform:

await app.WorkWith().Push().CurrentDevice.Unregister().ExecuteAsync();

After you have unregistered a device you may want to completely close the HttpNotificationChannel channel to Microsoft Push Notification Service (MPNS). Calling the DisableNotifications() method means that you will need to reinitialize and reregister the device in case you want to start sending push notifications again.

app.WorkWith().Push().CurrentDevice.DisableNotifications();
