Revert Changes

Select the Progress AppBuilder client you are currently using for development.

IDE

This article is applicable to the in-browser client, the universal desktop client and the classic Windows desktop client. For information about version control in the extension for Visual Studio, see Use version control in Visual Studio.

To discard changes made to your app after your latest commit, revert the changes. You can revert only uncommitted changes.

If you want to keep some of the changes and commit them later, you can revert changes to selected files only.

Prerequisites

  • Verify that your preferred AppBuilder client is running and you are logged in.
  • Verify that you have opened the code for your app.
  • Verify that you have pending changes.
    For uncommitted changes, version control icons appear in the Project Navigator. For more information, see Identify Pending Changes.

Procedure

In AppBuilder, you can revert changes to a single file, to the entire code of the app or to selected files.

In-Browser

Revert Changes to File or App (Quick Revert)

  1. In the Project Navigator, select the app or a single file.
  2. Right-click the selected item.
  3. From the context menu, select Version ControlRevert.
  4. In the pop-up window, review the listed files and confirm that you want to revert them.

Revert Changes to Selected Files

  1. In the top menu bar, click Version ControlCommit.
  2. Select the check boxes for the files that you want to revert.
  3. Select MoreRevert.
  4. In the pop-up window, review the listed files and confirm that you want to revert them.

Universal

Revert Changes to File or App (Quick Revert)

  1. In the Project Navigator, select the app or a single file.
  2. Right-click the selected item.
  3. From the context menu, select Version ControlRevert.
  4. In the pop-up window, review the listed files and confirm that you want to revert them.

Revert Changes to Selected Files

  1. In the top menu bar, click Version ControlCommit.
