Restore Changes and History

Select the Progress AppBuilder client you are currently using for development.

IDE

This article is applicable to the in-browser client, the universal desktop client and the classic Windows desktop client. For information about version control in the extension for Visual Studio, see Use version control in Visual Studio.

After you reset your local AppBuilder repository, you can retrieve version control history, including changes, from your remote Git repository. To be able to restore your local AppBuilder repository, you need to be using third-party version control.

You can retrieve only commits that you have pushed to the Git repository before resetting the local AppBuilder repository.

Prerequisites

  • Verify that your preferred AppBuilder client is running and you are logged in.
  • Verify that you have opened the code for your app.
  • Verify that you have set a remote Git repository and you have pushed your latest changes to it before resetting the local AppBuilder repository.
  • Verify that you have committed all pending changes. Any commits made between resetting and restoring the private repository might cause conflicts.
  • Verify that you have reset your repository.

Procedure

In-Browser

  • In the top menu bar, click Version ControlPull.

Universal

  • In the top menu bar, click Version ControlPull.

Windows

  • In the top menu bar, click Version ControlPull.

Visual Studio

CLI

This operation is applicable to the classic Windows desktop client and the in-browser client. With the command-line interface, you can use your preferred version control provider and tools.
