Configure Recompiling of LESS to CSS

Filter by IDE
Select the Progress AppBuilder client you are currently using for development.

IDE

When you save changes to a LESS file, by default, AppBuilder recompiles associated resources automatically. An associated resource is any LESS file in the import chain. Corresponding CSS files are also recompiled automatically, if nested properly under their source LESS.

In the in-browser client and the universal desktop client, you cannot configure the compiling of LESS to CSS. When you save changes to a LESS file, the in-browser client and the universal desktop client always recompile all associated resources.

In the classic Windows desktop client, you can configure the compiling of LESS to CSS. Based on your settings, when you save changes to a LESS file, the classic Windows desktop client will recompile the corresponding CSS file only or all associated resources.

For example: Your app contains middle.less and final.less which you have already compiled to middle.css and final.css respectively. final.less contains import declarations for middle.less. When you modify and save changes to middle.less, AppBuilder will recompile both final.css and middle.css to reflect your updated code.
