Filter by IDE
Select the Progress AppBuilder client you are currently using for development.

IDE

You can search for content in the currently open app.

Prerequisites

  • Verify that your preferred AppBuilder client is running and you are logged in.
  • Verify that you have opened the code for your app in AppBuilder.

Procedure

In-Browser

  1. At the bottom of the screen, select the Find All tab.
    The Find All tab is located next to the Output tab.
  2. Enable or disable case sensitivity by selecting or deselecting Aa.
  3. Type your search criteria and press Enter.
    AppBuilder lists your search results in the Find All panel.
  4. To view a search result, click it.
    AppBuilder opens the file which contains the search result in a new tab in the code editor. If the file is already open, AppBuilder switches to its tab.

Universal

  1. At the bottom of the screen, select the Find All tab.
    The Find All tab is located next to the Output tab.
  2. Enable or disable case sensitivity by selecting or deselecting Aa.
  3. Type your search criteria and press Enter.
    AppBuilder lists your search results in the Find All panel.
  4. To view a search result, click it.
    AppBuilder opens the file which contains the search result in a new tab in the code editor. If the file is already open, AppBuilder switches to its tab.

Windows

  1. Press Ctrl+Shift+F.
    The Find and Replace dialog launches in unpinned mode.
  2. Click the cogwheel icon and configure your search options.

    Option Description
    Match case Specifies that the search criteria should respect the character casing.
    Match whole word Specifies that the search criteria should match only entire words.
    Use regular expressions Specifies that the search criteria is a regular expression.
  3. Type your search criteria and press Enter.
    The Find Results pane expands and lists all search results. When you run global searches in the currently open app, AppBuilder shows every global search in a separate tab in the Find Results pane.

  4. To view a search result, double-click it.
  5. (Optional) Close the Find and Replace dialog.

Visual Studio

In the extension for Visual Studio, you can find and replace text with the default Find and Replace operations available in Microsoft Visual Studio. For more information, see Finding and Replacing Text.

CLI

To perform this operation, apply the approach or tool available for your current IDE.
