Add a New Blank File

Select the Progress AppBuilder client you are currently using for development.

IDE

In AppBuilder, you can create a new file from the built-in file templates.

In Apache Cordova apps, you can create new HTML, CSS, LESS, TypeScript, JavaScript and AppSettings files from a template.

In NativeScript apps, you can create new XML, HTML (Angular 2-specific files), CSS, JavaScript, TypeScript and AppSettings files from a template.

Prerequisites

  • Verify that your preferred AppBuilder client is running and you are logged in.
  • Verify that you have opened the code for your app in AppBuilder.

Procedure

In-Browser

  1. In the Project Navigator, right-click the location where you want to add the new file.
  2. From the pop-up menu, select AddNew File.
  3. In the pop-up window, select the type of file that you want to add, provide a file name and click OK.
    Verify that the file name meets the AppBuilder requirements for file and folder names.

Universal

  1. In the Project Navigator, right-click the location where you want to add the new file.
  2. From the pop-up menu, select AddNew File.
  3. In the pop-up window, select the type of file that you want to add, provide a file name and click OK.
    Verify that the file name meets the AppBuilder requirements for file and folder names.

Windows

  1. In the Project Navigator, right-click the location where you want to add the new file.
  2. From the pop-up menu, select AddNew File.
  3. In the pop-up window, select the type of file that you want to add, provide a file name and click OK.
    Verify that the file name meets the AppBuilder requirements for file and folder names.

Visual Studio

  1. In the Solution Explorer, right-click the location where you want to add the new file.
  2. From the pop-up menu, select AddNew Item.
  3. In the pop-up window, select the type of file that you want to add, provide a file name and click OK.
    Verify that the file name meets the AppBuilder requirements for file and folder names.

CLI

To perform this operation, add your files manually to your app directory.
