Anonymous Usage Reporting

Select the Progress AppBuilder client you are currently using for development.

IDE

To help the Progress AppBuilder team improve the product, you can opt in to send anonymous usage statistics and error reports about issues with the product. All data gathered is used strictly for improving the product and will never be used to identify or contact you.

By default, anonymous error reporting is enabled.

Prerequisites

  • Verify that your preferred AppBuilder client is running and you are logged in.
  • Verify that you have opened the code for your app in AppBuilder.

Procedure

In-Browser

  1. In the top right corner, click the cogwheel icon and select Options.
  2. Select Application Telemetry.
  3. Choose if you want to send anonymous usage statistics.
  4. Choose if you want to send anonymous exception reports.
  5. Click X to close the Options dialog.

Universal

  1. In the top right corner, click the cogwheel icon and select Options.
  2. Select Application Telemetry.
  3. Choose if you want to send anonymous usage statistics.
  4. Choose if you want to send anonymous exception reports.
  5. Click X to close the Options dialog.

Windows

  1. In the title bar, click your user name and select Options.
  2. Navigate to the General tab.
  3. Select Application Telemetry.
  4. Choose if you want to send anonymous usage statistics.
  5. Choose if you want to send anonymous exception reports.
  6. Click Ok.

Visual Studio

  1. In the top menu bar, click AppBuilderOptions.
  2. Navigate to the General tab.
  3. Select Application Telemetry.
  4. Choose if you want to send anonymous usage statistics.
  5. Choose if you want to send anonymous exception reports.
  6. Click OK.

CLI

  • Configure usage reporting.

    1. In the command prompt, run the following command to check the current status of usage reporting.

      appbuilder usage-reporting status
      
    2. To enable usage reporting, run the following command.

      appbuilder usage-reporting enable
      
    3. To disable usage reporting, run the following command.

      appbuilder usage-reporting disable
      
  • Configure error reporting.

    1. In the command prompt, run the following command to check the current status of error reporting.

      appbuilder error-reporting status
      
    2. To enable error reporting, run the following command.

      appbuilder error-reporting enable
      
    3. To disable error reporting, run the following command.

      appbuilder error-reporting disable
