IDE

Project LiveSync is the ability to automatically LiveSync changes to a deployed application package on a connected physical or virtual device when you save your changes. When Project LiveSync is enabled, saving your changes will automatically LiveSync them on a deployed application on a connected device.

You can configure Project LiveSync only for a selected connected device and not for the application package itself. If the application package is already built with disabled LiveSync, Project LiveSync is disabled by default and you cannot enable it. You can enable or disable Project LiveSync only after you have built and deployed the application package on a connected device.

After you have launched a native iOS or Android device emulator (including Genymotion), while the emulator is running, AppBuilder recognizes and treats it as a connected device.

The Project LiveSync setting is not global and you need to set it for each app, application package and device individually.

You cannot LiveSync changes to connected Windows Phone devices. To be able to LiveSync changes, deploy your app via QR code and use the three-finger refresh gesture to get your latest changes from the cloud.

Prerequisites

  • Verify that your preferred AppBuilder client is running and you are logged in.
  • Verify that you have opened the code for your app in AppBuilder.
  • Verify that you have connected your physical device via USB cable connection and AppBuilder recognizes it.
  • Verify that you have deployed your app on a virtual device in the native emulator and that AppBuilder recognizes the virtual device.
  • Verify that you have enabled LiveSync for the application package.
  • Verify that you have deployed your application on the connected devices.
