IDE

The classic Windows desktop client and the in-browser client store your files and app information in the cloud and you can access them only through the classic Windows desktop client and the in-browser client. If you want to access them through the extension for Visual Studio or the , you need to get the code from the cloud. For more information, see Collaborate Across the Offline and Cloud Tools.

When you work with the extension for Visual Studio, files and app information is stored on your local file system and you can access them locally at any time. Your project is also connected with the cloud and you can access your work from the in-browser client.

When you work with the command-line interface, files and app information is stored on your local file system and you can access them locally at any time. However, from the command-line interface you can quickly get any app created with the classic Windows desktop client or the in-browser client by downloading it locally from the cloud.

To back up your work locally, you can export your app from the classic Windows desktop client or the in-browser client. You can also export your app when your trial or subscription plan expires. You can later import the archive to recreate your app or continue development with another integrated development environment. You can also add the exported files to another app in AppBuilder.

Version control history, plugins and app settings such as Apache Cordova version, active build configuration and application identifier are not exported.

Prerequisites

  • Verify that your preferred AppBuilder client is running and you are logged in.
