You can perform value-based queries to retrieve objects from the database. Queries are based on field values rather then the return values of properties of the persistence capable classes. What this means is that a query for employees with a LastName equal to "Miller" will only work if LastName is field name and not a property of the Employee class.

OpenAccess ORM provides you with an OQL Query Browser, which enables you to parse and execute your OQL queries and get its corresponding SQL statements and results.
