Glossary Item Box

This documentation article is a legacy resource describing the functionality of the deprecated OpenAccess Classic only. The contemporary documentation of Telerik OpenAccess ORM is available here.

Telerik OpenAccess ORM obtains configuration settings from standard .NET configuration files.

Additionally, Telerik OpenAccess ORM supports configuration files for class libraries. Microsoft .NET framework only recognizes configuration files for executables and web projects. The naming rules are the same as for configuration files for executables. For example, MyLibrary.dll can be accompanied by a configuration file named MyLibrary.dll.config. Configuration files for libraries can also be stored as embedded resources in the library itself, simplifying deployment. If a stand-alone configuration file for a library is used, it must be placed in the same directory as the library.

Currently, placing a library configuration file in the global assembly cache (GAC) is not supported.
