Choosing a driver explicitly
Programmer's Guide > OpenAccess ORM Classic (Old API) > Programming With OpenAccess > Low-level Driver > Choosing a driver explicitly

Glossary Item Box

This documentation article is a legacy resource describing the functionality of the deprecated OpenAccess Classic only. The contemporary documentation of Telerik OpenAccess ORM is available here.

You will need to explicitly choose a driver while using .NET 2.0 and SQL Server 2000 or MSDE.

In other cases it is not recommended to do so, unless our support asks to you to do so. Refer to Explicitly setting drivers for limitations of using the driver with MySQL.

A driver is explicitly set as shown in the following example (excerpt from the App.config file):

Copy Code
<backendconfigurations>

<backendconfiguration id="mssqlConfiguration" backend="mssql" driver="genericADO2">

<mappingname>mssqlMapping</mappingname>

</backendconfiguration>
</
backendconfigurations>
