Troubleshooting Guide

There are many ways in which a recorded test will not run as expected and result in a test failure. For example:

  • An element was not found by an action step (a click, a verification, a select, etc.)
  • An Image Verification fails
  • The recorder won't connect
  • An action step is marked passed but does not result in an expected page change
  • etc.


The pages in this section include diagnostic and troubleshooting guides that will help guide you in isolating the root cause and suggestions for how to resolve the problem.


A great first step for any troubleshooting scenario is to enable logging, and then view the log after the problematic behavior occurs. These steps can be done from the Help tab. If logging is already enabled, click Clear Log to remove old information.
