Configuring Chrome for Test Studio Automation

As of the 2012 R2 release, the Calibrate Browsers feature can configure your browsers automatically, with the exception of enabling the Telerik browser extensions (see below). If you need to resort to manual configuration, use the following settings. 

  • Note If your Chrome browser has an active Google Apps session (for example, you are logged into GMail), automatic calibration will not work as expected. To use automatic configuration, log out of your Google account first.

Enable Extensions

  1. Click Chrome Menu Button > Tools > Extensions.
  2. Ensure that the Telerik Exploratory Testing, Telerik TestStudio and Telerik TestStudio Recorder extensions are enabled.

Zoom Level Set to 100%

  1. Click the Tools icon.
  2. Use the plus (+) and minus (-) buttons next to Zoom to set it to 100% (or use the keyboard shortcut: Ctrl + 0).

Open Options Menu

  1. Click the Tools icon.
  2. Select Settings from the drop-down menu.
  3.  

 

Enable File Downloads

  1. Scroll to the bottom and click Show advanced settings.
  2. Locate the Downloads section.
  3. Check Ask where to save each file before downloading.
  4.  

 

Disable Pop-up Blocker

  1. Locate the Privacy section.
  2. Click Content Settings.
  3.  

     

  4. Select Allow all sites to show pop-ups.
  5.  

     

  6. Click OK.


Allow All Sites to Run Javascript

  1. Locate the Privacy section.
  2. Click Content Settings.
  3. Under 'Javascript,' Select Allow all sites to run JavaScript.

Unblock Third-Party Cookies and Site Data


  1. Click Chrome Menu Button > Show advanced settings... > Privacy > Content Settings.
  2. Click Allow local data to be set (recommended).

Allow all sites to download multiple files automatically


  1. Click Chrome Menu Button > Settings > Show advanced settings... > Privacy > Content Settings.
  2. Click Allow all sites to download multiple files automatically.
