How do I display groups with different datasources and details sections?

Usually grouping is used to group the data together by criteria. Instead, use SubReports to allow different sets of data within a single report. Using the SubReport ToolBox item you can embed several different reports in one report. Each report can use a different data source and you can arrange your “master” report to look exactly the same way as a report with groups.  To use SubReport components:

  1. Create a "master" report that will act as a container for the other reports.
  2. Create reports that will be contained within the master report.  Each report can have a different datasource and layout defined.
  3. Add SubReport items from the ToolBox to the "master" report detail section for each Report item created in step 2.
  4. Select the Report property from the drop down list for each SubReport.
  5. Rebuild the project.
