AppBuilder 2.5.1 Release Notes

Product version: AppBuilder 2.5.1

Released: 2014, September 19

AppBuilder 2.5.1 is a maintenance release. For a list of the new features and updates introduced in the earlier major release, AppBuilder 2.5, see AppBuilder 2.5 Release Notes.

For a list of issues you need to be aware of in this release, see Known Issues.

This release resolves the following issues in AppBuilder.

General

  • If you have exceeded the app quota for your subscription plan, you can no longer start the Quick Start Lessons because the Telerik Platform cannot create the workspace and the app for the tutorial.
  • When you set the IOS_APP_URL variable for the Telerik Mobile Testing plugin from the user interface, AppBuilder does not update Info.plist with the configured value for the plugin variable.

Mobile Devices and Platforms

  • On iOS devices, you can LiveSync changes to your app with the three-finger refresh gesture only once. Consecutive LiveSync attempts result in error messages.
  • On devices running iOS 8, you cannot run your apps in the Cordova developer app. The Cordova developer app instantly closes.
  • On devices running iOS 8, you cannot LiveSync changes to your running app with the three-finger refresh gesture.

Frameworks

  • If your app uses Kendo UI Q2 2014 or later, the Kendo UI Designer shows an endless loading indicator in the device pane and you cannot develop the user interface for your app.
  • You cannot test Kendo UI Drawer in the device simulator in the classic Windows desktop client, the extension for Visual Studio, the command-line interface and the package for Sublime Text.
  • You cannot test Kendo UI drop-down lists in the device simulator in the classic Windows desktop client, the extension for Visual Studio, the command-line interface and the package for Sublime Text.

AppBuilder In-Browser Client

  • After changing your code editor options from the in-browser client or the classic Windows desktop client, you can no longer open files in your app in the in-browser client.
  • If an operation reloads your app, you might no longer be able to open the menu from the button at the top left of the Project Navigator.
  • After you open the code for your app, you cannot compile TypeScript to JavaScript for a few minutes.
  • In Internet Explorer 9, an endless loading indicator appears. You cannot access your workspaces and non-AppBuilder apps.
  • You cannot delete the Android splash screen from the Properties.
  • When you click X to clear your input from a text box, the in-browser client redirects you to the old dashboard.
  • In some browsers, the radio buttons in dialogs appear as an ellipsis (...).
  • The tab size for your app might be 44 spaces by default.
  • The in-browser client applies your indentation settings for the current session only.
  • When you install or uninstall a plugin from the Telerik Verified Plugins Marketplace, the Properties dialog does not update automatically, if open.

AppBuilder Windows Client

  • Multiple issues in the device simulator such as but not limited to the following.
    • Incorrect rendering of some HTML elements, such as but not limited to ComboBoxes and <select> elements.
    • Incorrect rendering of CSS transitions.
    • Issues with the Kendo UI Drawer widget (caused by the incorrect rendering of CSS transitions).
    • Issues with Kendo UI drop-down lists.
  • After you download the PushWoosh plugin from the Telerik Verified Plugins Marketplace and manually import it in the classic Windows desktop client as a custom plugin, multiple issues occur. The classic Windows desktop client shows error message that Android is an undeclared prefix and it does not show core and other plugins in the Plugins tab in the Properties.
  • The classic Windows desktop client lets you enable or disable Companion app LiveSync for Windows Phone 8 devices even though AppBuilder does not provide LiveSync via cable connection for the companion app on Windows Phone 8 devices.
  • In the Windows Phone 8 device simulator, when your app opens a link in a new browser tab or window, the page might not render properly in the new browser tab or window.
  • When you run the sample-facebook-api sample app in the Windows Phone 8 device simulator, the simulator does not show the login page properly.
