Option Description Additional Comments
NativeScript version The NativeScript version is the version of the cross-platform native modules and the platform-specific runtimes for the app.
AppBuilder supports the following versions of NativeScript.
  • 3.0.0 - Experimental
  • 2.5.0
  • 2.4.0 - Deprecated
  • 2.3.0 - Deprecated
  • Support for deprecated framework versions will be removed in a future release.
Application identifier The application identifier uniquely identifies an app on both iOS and Android devices and in their respective application stores.
The application identifier must consist of one or more alphanumeric strings, separated by a dot. The strings must be valid uniform type identifiers (UTIs), containing letters, numbers, hyphens, underscores or periods.
AppBuilder will prompt you if your application identifier is not applicable to one or more mobile platforms.
Not to be confused with App ID—the unique identifier used to connect Telerik Platform services to the app.
Version The version property sets the current version of the application visible to the user. You need to change it for every new release of the app that you want to distribute publicly. The version must consist of two or three numbers, separated with a dot (.). For iOS application packages, this sets the CFBundleShortVersionString key in Info.plist.
Author The name of the application author. If not set, AppBuilder sets your user name as the author name.
Display Name The display name is the user-friendly title that appears on the device below the app icon. This setting applies to all device platforms.
To set different display names for each platform, you need to modify the required configuration files.
If not set, AppBuilder sets the app name as the display name.
Description The description of the app. None
Supported interface orientation The supported interface orientation (portrait and landscape) toggles the availability of these modes on the devices running your app. For example: if only portrait is enabled, your app will never go into landscape view on the device.
By default, both portrait and landscape orientation are enabled.
You cannot review changes in the supported interface orientation in the NativeScript developer app.
