IDE

When you build your app for testing, you can choose to build the application package with a Debug or a Release build configuration. When you build your app for distribution from the Publish option, AppBuilder always applies your release configuration.

When you run your app in the framework-specific developer apps, you can set the current build configuration from the Build wizard.

You can also set the current build configuration for your app from the Platform companion app. However, to apply the selected configuration, you need to load your app in its framework-specific developer app using the Open Application or Open buttons in the Platform companion app. Note that you need to set the build configuration for each app separately.

Option Description
Debug
  • Includes any *.debug.* files in your application package, removes the debug modifiers from the file names and renames them to *.*.
  • If applicable to the AppBuilder client, applies any additional exclude or include rules defined in .debug.abignore.
Release
  • Includes any *.release.* files in your application package, removes the release modifiers from the file names and renames them to *.*.
  • If applicable to the AppBuilder client, applies any additional exclude or include rules defined in .debug.abignore.
