Add a New Folder

Select the Progress AppBuilder client you are currently using for development.

IDE

For improved file management, you can add new folders to your app and use them to organize your resources. Newly created folders are empty and you need to populate them manually.

Prerequisites

  • Verify that your preferred AppBuilder client is running and you are logged in.
  • Verify that you have opened the code for your app in AppBuilder.

Procedure

In-Browser

  1. In the Project Navigator, right-click the location where you want to add the new folder.
  2. From the pop-up menu, select AddNew Folder.
  3. In the Add New Folder pop-up window, provide a name for the folder and click OK.

Universal

  1. In the Project Navigator, right-click the location where you want to add the new folder.
  2. From the pop-up menu, select AddNew Folder.
  3. In the Add New Folder pop-up window, provide a name for the folder and click OK.

Windows

  1. In the Project Navigator, right-click the location where you want to add the new folder.
  2. From the pop-up menu, select AddNew Folder.
    The new folder appears in the Project Navigator in rename mode.
  3. Type a new name for the folder or press Enter to preserve the default name.

Visual Studio

  1. In the Solution Explorer, right-click the location where you want to add the new folder.
    To add a new folder in the root, right-click the project node.
  2. From the pop-up menu, select AddNew Folder.
    The new folder appears in the Solution Explorer in rename mode.
  3. Enter new name for the folder or press Enter to preserve the default name.
    Verify that the folder name meets the AppBuilder requirements for file and folder names.

CLI

  • In a file explorer, manage the files and folders of your locally stored app.
