Configure Warning and Error Handling

Select the Progress AppBuilder client you are currently using for development.

IDE

AppBuilder inspects your code as you type and highlights errors and warnings against your preferences. You can choose what file types to check for errors, you can set which files to ignore when checking and you can select how to show code issues. You can choose between showing issues as errors or warnings or you can disable alerts for the code issue.

Prerequisites

  • Verify that the classic Windows desktop client is running and you are logged in the Telerik Platform.
  • Verify that you have opened the code for your app in AppBuilder.

Procedure

In-Browser

This operation is not available in the in-browser client.

Universal

This operation is not available in the universal desktop client.

Windows

Error handling settings are global.

  1. In the title bar, click your user name and select Options.
  2. In the Advanced tab, click Code AnalysisGeneral.
  3. In the Show errors from the following file types panel, select for which file types you want to run error checks.
  4. In the Exclude file filters text box, type any files that you want to ignore during error checks separated with a semicolon (;).
    Type \folder_name\ to ignore all files in a folder.
  5. In the Code analysis refresh interval, type the time in milliseconds that AppBuilder should wait between automatic error checks.
  6. Click Code AnalysisWarningsHTML and from the drop-down menus, select how to show issues in the code.
  7. Click Code AnalysisWarningsLESS and from the drop-down menus, select how to show issues in the code.
  8. Click Code AnalysisWarningsCSS and from the drop-down menus, select how to show issues in the code.
  9. Click Code AnalysisWarningsJavaScript and from the drop-down menus, select how to show issues in the code.
  10. Click Ok.

Visual Studio

To perform this operation, apply your preferred Microsoft Visual Studio approach, extension or tool or install and use the Telerik JustCode extension. For more information, see the Telerik JustCode Manual.

CLI

To perform this operation, apply the approach, extension or tools available for your current IDE.
