Synchronize Changes to the Simulator

Select the AppBuilder client you are currently using for development.

IDE

When you modify your app, AppBuilder automatically synchronizes saved changes to the simulator, if running. If AppBuilder does not synchronize your changes, you can refresh or reload the app manually.

Prerequisites

  • Verify that your preferred AppBuilder client is running and you are logged in.
  • Verify that you have opened the code for your app in AppBuilder.
  • Verify that the simulator is running.
  • Verify that you have saved all changes.

Procedure

In-Browser

  • In the main menu of the running simulator, click Refresh.
    This operation refreshes your app in the simulator and preserves the current application screen.
  • In the main menu of the running simulator, click Reload.
    This operation reloads the simulator module without closing it. Use the reload operation to avoid restarting the simulator. Your app reloads and returns to the application home screen.

Windows

  • In the main menu of the running simulator, click Refresh.
    This operation refreshes your app in the simulator and preserves the current application screen.
  • In the main menu of the running simulator, click Reload.
    This operation reloads the simulator module without closing it. Use the reload operation to avoid restarting the simulator. Your app reloads and returns to the application home screen.

Visual Studio

  • In the main menu of the running simulator, click Refresh.
    This operation refreshes your app in the simulator and preserves the current application screen.
  • In the main menu of the running simulator, click Reload.
    This operation reloads the simulator module without closing it. Use the reload operation to avoid restarting the simulator. Your app reloads and returns to the application home screen.

CLI

If you are running the command-line interface on a Windows system, perform the following steps.

  • In the main menu of the running simulator, click Refresh.
    This operation refreshes your app in the simulator and preserves the current application screen.
  • In the main menu of the running simulator, click Reload.
    This operation reloads the simulator module without closing it. Use the reload operation to avoid restarting the simulator. Your app reloads and returns to the application home screen.

If you are running the command-line interface on a macOS system, perform the following steps.

  • In the title bar of the running simulator, select ToolsRefresh.
    This operation refreshes your app in the simulator and preserves the current application screen.
  • In the title bar of the running simulator, select ToolsReload.
    This operation reloads the simulator module without closing it. Use the reload operation to avoid restarting the simulator. Your app reloads and returns to the application home screen.
