IDE

When your app is production-ready, you can build it for publishing and distribute it to selected end users.

Prerequisites

  • Verify that your preferred AppBuilder client is running and you are logged in.
  • Verify that you have opened the code for your app in AppBuilder.
  • Verify that the devices and systems of your users meet the prerequisites for connecting and deploying on Windows Phone devices. For more information, see Connect Windows Phone Devices and How to deploy and run a Windows Phone app.

Procedure

In-Browser

  1. In the top menu bar, click Publish and select App Stores.
  2. Select Windows Phone Store.
  3. Click Next.
  4. After the build completes, click Download to store the application package on your local file system.
If you have set a default download location for your browser, AppBuilder will not prompt you to specify name and download location. If you have not set a default download location for your browser, when prompted, browse to the location where you want to store the application package, provide a file name for the application package and click Save.
  5. Send out the XAP to your users.

For more information how to deploy your app, see How to deploy and run a Windows Phone app.

For more information how to deploy your app, see How to deploy and run a Windows Phone app.

CLI

  1. In the command prompt, navigate to the directory that contains your app.
  2. Run the following command.
This operation also downloads the final manifest file (WMAppManifest.xml) for the application package.

    appbuilder build wp8 --release --download

When the --download switch is set, the command-line interface does not provide a QR code for installing the app and automatically downloads the XAP on your local file system. Your users need to manually deploy your app on their devices using the Application Deployment tool from the Windows Phone 8.0 SDK or the Windows Phone 8.1 SDK. For more information how to deploy an app with the Application Deployment tool, see How to deploy and run a Windows Phone app.

  3. After the build completes, send out the QR code, the download URL or the XAP for your app to your users.

IMPORTANT: The application packages available via QR code or download URL are signed packages. Your users need to download and install the Telerik Application Enrollment Token on their devices before they can run your app.

Next Steps

Build and publish your app to the App Store.

(Optional) If you are running the extension for Visual Studio, you can remove app data from the cloud.
