Export a Cryptographic Identity

Filter by IDE
Select the Progress AppBuilder client you are currently using for development.

IDE

You can export your cryptographic identity as a P12 file to back it up or transfer it to another system or account. You can later import the P12 file to recreate the cryptographic identity.

Prerequisites

  • Verify that your preferred AppBuilder client is running and you are logged in.
  • Verify that you have opened the code for your app in AppBuilder.

Procedure

In-Browser

  1. Click the cogwheel icon and select Options.
  2. If you want to export an iOS cryptographic identity, select iOSCryptographic Identities.
  3. If you want to export an Android cryptographic identity, select AndroidCryptographic Identities.
  4. Select the check box for the cryptographic identity that you want to export.
If you have lost the CSR file for a pending certificate signing request, you can retrieve it by exporting the pending cryptographic identity.
  5. Type a password and confirm it.
  6. Click OK.
  7. If prompted, specify name and download location for the file and save it to disk.
Cryptographic identities are exported as P12 files. Certificate signing requests are exported as CSR.

Universal

  6. Click OK.
  7. Specify name and download location for the file and save it to disk.
Cryptographic identities are exported as P12 files. Certificate signing requests are exported as CSR.

Windows

  1. In the title bar, click your user name and select Options.
  2. Go to the Mobile tab.
  3. If you want to export an iOS cryptographic identity, expand iOS and select Cryptographic Identities.
  4. If you want to export an Android cryptographic identity, expand Android and select Cryptographic Identities.
  5. In the Cryptographic Identities panel, select an identity and click Export.
  6. (Optional) Type a password and confirm it.
  7. Click OK.
  8. Specify name and download location for the P12 file and save the file to disk.

Visual Studio

  1. In the top menu bar, click AppBuilderOptions.
  7. Click OK.

    appbuilder certificate

  2. Run the following command.

    appbuilder certificate export <Certificate ID>

Where <Certificate ID> is the index or name of the cryptographic identity that you want to export, as listed by appbuilder certificate.

  3. When prompted, provide a password for the cryptographic identity and press Enter.

The command-line interface exports the cryptographic identity as a P12 file and prints the location where the file is stored.

Next Steps
