You can add any kind of data widget to your dashboards and you can choose to represent the date for the widget in two or more ways depending on the data type you choose. Everything but the data type can be changed in the dashboard after you add the widget.
When you click on the add widget button in the dashboard, Add Widget dialog will be opened. From here you can select the data you want to add, and select how you want it to look:
This will be displayed in the header of the widget. If you leave it empty the name of the metric will be set as the title.
You can select one of the metrics collected by the Analytics.
Depending on the selected metric you can choose among the following types:
This will decide how your data is presented on the dashboard. There are the following possibilities that depend on metric and widget type:

The filter decides what period of data your widget displays. There are the following options:
The widget follow the global filter like the widgets on every other report. This means it will also follow the country and release filters for example.
You can select the length of the period in the second combobox - from 7 days to 365 days. The widget will not be affected by any global filters.
